Those Progressive Liberals

Israel National News reports about the Israeli Presidential Conference taking place now in Jerusalem. Judea and Samaria Council’s chairperson Danny Dayan and J Street executive director Jeremy Ben-Ami participated in a panel discussion about criticism and loyalty in the relations between Israel and the Diaspora.

Dayan asked Ben-Ami: “When, recently, did you do a simple act for Israel, one which every child understands is for Israel and does not require a philosophical roundabout explanation?”

Settlements

One of the most dreaded words in today’s international vocabulary is “Settlements.” It is a cocoon for all that is evil, wrong and requires immediate corrective action.

Israelis most commonly use the word “settlement” to refer to Jewish towns and cities throughout Samaria and Judea, an area conquered in 1967 from Jordan. As we are purporting to be as exact as possible using terminology, the word “liberated” would be better suited, for one must remember that the word “Jewish” is derived from “Judea.” (In Hebrew, Yehudi from Yehuda.)
